Built by Opareto / Earlier implementation
Make the exception the thing people review.
An anonymous mechanical contractor’s regular-payroll workflow offers a concrete starting point: bring the relevant records together, prepare the review and leave the judgment with the person responsible for payroll.
Workflow reconstruction
Prepare the context.
Review the exception.
Operational inputs
Relevant records from the work.
Payroll preparation
Information brought into the review.
Human decision
Exceptions checked before completing payroll.
The starting point
Preparing payroll involved checking operational records against the payroll process. The work crossed systems, so the reviewer had to reconstruct the context needed to understand discrepancies before completing the run.
What Opareto worked on
The earlier implementation connected operational inputs with payroll preparation and review. The purpose was to make the relevant information and exceptions easier to inspect, while retaining a person’s responsibility for the final payroll decision.
What the reviewer still checks
A prepared result still needs someone to resolve exceptions, confirm corrections and decide when the payroll output is ready. Moving information between systems does not remove the need for that judgment.
What this story establishes
This is earlier work built by Opareto for a specific operation. It concerns regular payroll, not a claim of certified-payroll compliance. It is not a general release announcement, a guaranteed outcome or a connector availability statement.
A useful pattern to take away
Find a recurring review where someone spends time reconstructing context. Prepare the evidence for that review, agree what still needs a person and define the result before expanding the workflow. The diagram here reconstructs that pattern; it is not a customer screenshot.
